Highlights of Antenna Design Experience

 

 

1998-present    MultiBeam Phased Arrays – Offset Reflector fed by a scanning array (1. stripline notches, 2. stripline Yagis), Notch array, Pillbox Array, all 30% bandwidth, -30 dB sidelobes across the band.

1996-1998         Wide-band Microstrip antennas for Wireless Communications – PCS,PCN, WLL,GSM, AMPS, ISM. Microstrip elements of 6dB gain to Microstrip arrays of 20 dB gain.

1995                 Dual Band microstrip patch A patch with a slot on. The lower band radiator is the patch, the higher band radiator is the slot.

1995                 Highly efficient microstrip arrays. Microstrip arrays on sheet metal. Application: wireless LAN. Frequency 2.4-2.485 GHz

1995                 Annular Slot Antenna. Radial slot in a circular cavity. Omnidirectionality of ±2dB. L-band (30% bandwidth); application: IFF

1994                 Slotted Array Design Code. An array of two traveling wave sub-arrays, X-band, 20 dB SLL, 32.0 dB gain, no beam scan.

1994                 Microstrip Array fed by an asymmetric stripline feeding network. CX<-30 dB in within the -3dB beam.

1994                 Cosec 2 microstrip. Non-planar microstrip array. No beam scan.

1994                 Asymmetric stripline coupler 2 microstrip-to-stripline -to-microstrip multilayer coupler

1994                 Slot fed helix. Helix fed by a microstrip network. 12-18 GHz, AX<3dB.

1994                 Dual Band Feed. Coaxial, Circularly polarized P-band and L-band. Return Loss <-18 dB. AX<1.5 dB

1994                 Dual Band Feed. Coaxial, Linearly polarized. C-band and Ku-band. Return Loss<-15 dB. C-band :43 dB gain. Ku-band: 48 dB gain.

1994                 Monoscan Dual-Band Feed (including down-converter). Circularly polarized feed + four helices. L-band and S-band. VSWR<1.7:1. AX<2 dB (S-band); <3dB (L-band).

1993                 Waveguide-to-microstrip transition for low-loss feeding networks.

1989                 Conical scan antenna. Cassegrain with rotating subreflector W-band, fed by a corrugated horn (94 GHz).

1988                 Developed software for antenna design and scattering using different numericaltechniques (physical optics, geome trical optics, GTD and UTD:

                        - Scattering from finite plates with apertures

                        - Dielectric transmission lines

                        - Broadband horns

                        - 3D cosec 2 synthesis

1988                 Near-field measurements. Planar and cylindrical.

1988                 Microstrip antenna linear array Ka-band (35 GHz).

1988                 Communication antenna UHF microstrip patch. Low profile microstrip patch (0.1 l)

1987                 Developed software for antenna design and scattering. Scattering form a subreflector in a Cassegrain antenna using GTD.

1986                 Communication Antenna Cassegrain Reflector, W-band (94 GHz).

1985                 Communication Antenna Cassegrain fed by a septum horn X-band.
